Inland Ash Scattering

Inland ash scattering in Singapore is a relatively new option for the disposal of cremated ashes. It was first introduced by the National Environment Agency (NEA) in 2021, with the opening of the Garden of Peace at Choa Chu Kang Cemetery Complex. A second inland ash scattering garden, the Garden of Serenity at Mandai Crematorium and Columbarium Complex, is expected to be operational in 2024.

Inland ash scattering gardens are designed to provide a respectful and dignified place for families to scatter their loved one’s ashes. The gardens are typically landscaped with trees, shrubs, and flowers, offering a tranquil setting for families to grieve and reflect.
