What to do when a loved one dies?
We will never be truly prepared for that inevitable time when a loved one dies. Nonetheless, here is our pre- funeral guide to help you get through the toughest time before their wake and burial:
Call Assured Funeral Service at +65 82051316 as soon as a death occurs so we can help you and make the required arrangements.
Should the death happen at home, we can arrange for a doctor to certify the death. Alternatively, you might contact your general practitioner or a nearby physician who is willing to make a house call to confirm the demise. The doctor will issue the Certificate of Cause of Death (CCOD) immediately after certifying the death.
Should a doctor be unable to certify the death, you must contact the police to arrange for the body to be transported to HSA Mortuary (located at SGH Block 9) in a police hearse.
After obtaining the CCOD, you or one family member should go to this website to download the e-death cert while we help you with the other steps before finalizing the funeral.
In case of a hospital death, the hospital will issue the CCOD and will require to download the e-death certificate from this website. After that, leave the remaining steps to us.
Should a death happen abroad, we can help with procedures for repatriation and documentation verification.
For the wake and funeral, we will require you to provide one complete outfit, including pants, shoes, socks, undergarments and dentures ( if needed ) for your loved one to wear on their last voyage.
We will also require you to provide a picture of the deceased for the wake (hard copy or digital copy).
